OUT-PATIENTS
The Out-Patients Department (OPD) of Remera-Rukoma District Hospital is the first point of contact between patients and the hospital. Its role is to provide medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to patients who do not require hospital admission.
The department provides the following services:
- Patient Reception and Registration
Receiving patients, registering their information, and directing them to the appropriate services. - Medical Consultation and Assessment
Providing access to healthcare professionals for clinical evaluation and medical advice. - Diagnosis and Investigation
Coordinating laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic services to support clinical decision-making and treatment. - Treatment and Minor Procedures
Providing medications, treatment plans, and performing minor procedures that do not require hospital admission. - Referral and Coordination of Care
Referring patients to specialized clinics, emergency services, or inpatient departments when necessary. - Follow-up and Continuity of Care
Monitoring patients’ progress through follow-up visits and ongoing management of health conditions. - Health Education and Prevention
Educating patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, medication adherence, and self-care practices. - Improving Access to Healthcare Services
Ensuring patients receive timely and efficient care while reducing unnecessary hospital admissions.
