The Surgery Department of Remera-Rukoma District Hospital provides operative and perioperative care to patients who require surgical treatment for the diagnosis, treatment, correction, and management of diseases, injuries, and other medical conditions.

Our services include:

  1. Surgical Consultation and Assessment
    Evaluating patients, establishing surgical diagnoses, and determining whether surgical intervention is required.
  2. Preoperative Care and Preparation
    Preparing patients for surgery through medical assessment, diagnostic investigations, counseling, and risk management.
  3. Surgical Procedures
    Performing elective and emergency surgeries to treat injuries, diseases, deformities, and other health conditions.
  4. Emergency Surgical Care
    Providing urgent surgical interventions for life-threatening conditions and trauma cases.
  5. Postoperative Care and Recovery
    Monitoring patients after surgery, managing pain, preventing complications, and supporting recovery.
  6. Diagnosis and Treatment of Surgical Conditions
    Managing conditions that require surgical intervention through clinical examination and diagnostic support.
  7. Coordination with Other Departments
    Collaborating with anesthesia, laboratory, imaging, inpatient wards, and other specialties to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  8. Patient Education and Follow-up
    Educating patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery plans, wound care, medication use, and follow-up visits.
  9. Improving Patient Outcomes and Quality of Life
    Restoring health, improving function, relieving symptoms, and enhancing patients’ overall wellbeing.
