The Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Department of Remera-Rukoma District Hospital is responsible for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, long-term management, and follow-up care of chronic diseases that are not transmitted from person to person.

These conditions commonly include hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, cancer, and other long-term health conditions.

Our services include:

  1. Screening and Early Detection
    Identifying non-communicable diseases at an early stage through routine screening and assessment.
  2. Diagnosis and Clinical Evaluation
    Conducting medical examinations and diagnostic investigations to confirm diagnoses and determine appropriate treatment.
  3. Treatment and Disease Management
    Providing medications, treatment plans, and continuous care for patients living with chronic conditions.
  4. Monitoring and Follow-up Care
    Tracking patients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans, and supporting long-term disease control.
  5. Health Education and Counseling
    Educating patients and families on healthy lifestyles, medication adherence, nutrition, and self-management.
  6. Prevention and Risk Reduction
    Promoting measures to reduce risk factors such as unhealthy diets, physical inactivity, tobacco use, and harmful alcohol consumption.
  7. Coordination of Specialized Care
    Referring patients to specialized services and collaborating with other departments when advanced care is required.

    Supporting patients in maintaining quality of life and managing the long-term effects of chronic diseases.
