Emergency and Ambulance

Fast Response. Lifesaving Care. 24/7 Ready.

The Emergency and Ambulance Department at Remera-Rukoma District Hospital is a Level One emergency care unit that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department is staffed by qualified healthcare professionals who provide continuous emergency medical services, including consultation, nursing care and treatment, minor surgical procedures, resuscitation, and burn care.

All patients seeking emergency care are initially assessed and treated before being referred to the appropriate hospital departments based on their medical condition. The department is equipped with eleven(11) treatment beds, including two resuscitation beds for critically ill patients, as well as a dedicated room for less urgent cases.

The Ambulance Service provides safe, reliable, and timely transportation for emergency and critically ill patients. It supports rapid emergency response, patient referrals, and inter-facility transfers, ensuring uninterrupted access to healthcare services.

The department's mission is to deliver high-quality, timely, and compassionate emergency care while respecting patients' rights, dignity, cultural values, and individual needs.
