The Neonatology Department of Remera-Rukoma District Hospital is a specialized unit that provides comprehensive medical care for newborn babies, especially those who require additional monitoring or treatment during the first days and weeks of life. We provide the following services:

• Management of sick newborns – Treating conditions such as infections, breathing difficulties, jaundice, low birth weight, and birth-related complications.
• Newborn resuscitation and stabilization – Providing emergency care immediately after birth whenever needed.
• Monitoring growth and development – Ensuring newborns feed well and achieve healthy developmental progress.
• Temperature and nutritional support – Maintaining body temperature and providing feeding support, including tube feeding when necessary.
• Respiratory support – Assisting newborns with breathing difficulties through oxygen therapy and specialized medical equipment.
