DIRECTOR GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Curative Activities
- Deliver and authorize transfer and death certificates for admitted patients.
- Perform surgical and gyneco-obstetric procedures.
- Conduct at least one weekly visit to each department.
Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation
- Conduct formative technical supervision and mentorship of health centers.
- Supervise quality of care provided by physicians, nurses, and paramedical staff.
- Conduct morning clinical meetings in collaboration with the Clinical Director.
- Organize and conduct meetings with hospital medical staff.
- Initiate and coordinate operational research within the hospital.
- Organize and coordinate accreditation committee meetings.
Infrastructure Management
- Approve construction plans, budgets, and rehabilitation proposals.
- Supervise ongoing construction works.
- Approve reports on hospital construction and rehabilitation needs assessments.
Financial Resources and Assets Management
- Approve hospital consumption reports and purchase orders.
- Approve reports on drug management and store management.
- Supervise hospital financial management.
- Approve financial statements and all payments.
- Organize and chair Hospital Management Committee meetings.
- Present financial reports to the Hospital Board of Directors.
- Approve the annual forecasted budget prepared by the Hospital Administrator.
- Support the hospital billing and costing system.
Hospital Data Management
- Approve SIS reports for health centers within the hospital catchment area.
- Approve monthly, quarterly, and annual departmental activity reports.
Administrative and Human Resources Management
- Approve night duty rosters and annual leave schedules.
- Chair quarterly and annual staff evaluation meetings.
- Manage conflicts among personnel.
- Implement disciplinary measures in cases of misconduct or poor service delivery.
- Approve staff training needs assessments.
- Participate in the development of training modules.
- Approve plans for continuous on-job training of hospital staff.
Dr. JARIBU THEOGENE
Director General
Dr. Jaribu Theogene, MD, has served as the Director General of Remera Rukoma Hospital since 2015.
He has extensive professional experience in the healthcare sector, having worked in several hospitals since 2008, including Nemba Hospital, Ruhengeri Hospital, King Faisal Hospital, and Kacyiru Hospital.
Prior to joining Remera Rukoma Hospital, he served in the United Nations mission in Haiti as Chief Medical Officer for the UN Clinic.
Remera Rukoma Hospital is located in Kamonyi District and supervises 14 health centers.
